![]() Unfortunately, there is little synergy in this path, making it often useful, but rarely impressive in any encounters. Season’s Herald (PP) – Each path feature and power of this path is individually good, with some being very impressive. Scarred Healer (PP) – The healing boost provided by this paragon path is exceptional, making bear shamans nearly as proficient at healing as healing focused clerics, possibly more so. In standard parties, this simply is not even close to efficient enough to be worth taking. Keen Eagle (PP) – Only parties with a large number of ranged attackers can significantly take advantage of the benefits of this paragon path. A shaman on this path is a defense specialist, which is always valuable to a party. Great Elder (PP) – This paragon path provides exceptional defense to allies, improving on an ability that world speaker shamans are already good at. As a non-specialized path, it is one of the better choices. Rating: B-Įverflame Guardian (PP) – This paragon path provides a solid balance of offense and healing, only slightly limited by the fact that it deals fire damage. This focus makes the path somewhat defender-like and synergizes well with leader powers. Rating: B-ĭisciple of the Winds (PP) – Sliding allies and enemies alike is the primary focus of this paragon path. The healing benefit is an excellent feature for bear shamans, though the powers are mostly unimpressive. Spirit Tempest (PHB2) – Simply for the ability to attack with combat advantage with every single at-will attack, this is a solid choice of paragon paths. In a party with multiple defenders, this path is slightly better. When the benefits do function, they are quite powerful, but all too often, they will be useless. Great Bear Shaman (PHB2) – This paragon path has features and powers that are simply too situational to be worth taking. Some minor utility and leadership keeps it from being entirely worthless, but only specialized stealth based parties can truly utilize most of this path. Ghost Panther (PHB2) – The powers and features of this paragon path are all rather weak and many are far too situational. In a control light party, this may be a good choice, but the lack of leader abilities is a definite drawback. Described and rated below are the shaman paragon paths from the Player’s Handbook 2 (PHB2) and Primal Power (PP).ĭisciple of the World Serpent (PHB2) – With significant control features, this paragon path strays from the usual role of a shaman. Each class has access to roughly a dozen paragon paths and can alternately choose paragon paths belonging to other classes through the use of the multi-classing mechanic. When the character reaches 11th level, the character chooses a paragon path that focuses the abilities and skills of the character and more strongly defines the unique attributes of the character. During the early levels of a 4th edition Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) character, the character’s abilities are limited to those choices available from the initial class selection.
